THIS HOT MESS
I feel is a good example of waay to many things going on in a photograph, with bad lighting, at a bad angle, with little or no focus, or point.
You simply cannot just put up a colorful background, throw a wig on a hot tattoo’d chick, give her something random to hold, and call it a good photo.
MERKLEY is the king of focussed hot mess, but he pulls it off with style and talent.
Self editing falls to the photographer.
Is that a cupcake in the mug?
Are those lightbulbs on chains there for a reason?
What am I supposed to be looking at?
She looks pouty, is she a sad clown, or a suicide girl that isn’t naked?
Red gloves, red heels, red tiny hat… and?
Where is the focus?
Blue Wig, matches Blue in the backdrop.
Yellow chair, matches yellow background,
Purple PVC skirt?
What am I suppose to be looking at?
What is the message?
Am I focussing on her beauty?
Am I focussing on her outfit, wig? Tattoos? Make up? Boobs??
What is this a photograph of?
Art is subjective, I’m aware. we’re all learning, yes I’m aware.
I have taken this same photo, albeit with a simpler backdrop. (I sure as shit didn’t put it online)
I’m just trying to understand this particular photo, and what it is attempting to say.
There are several incredibly integral ingredients that go into making a good photograph.
To name five > Feeling conveyed, focus or point, location, lighting, and evident photographic talent.
None of which are artfully displayed in this particular photo.
I am no critic, I am simply ONE opinion, one that should probably be ignored.
